Fr. Jason was ordained a priest on June 23, 2023, by Bishop William Joensen.  OLIH is his first assignment as a priest.  He was born and raised in Waukee, being the youngest of 3 children. Fr. Jason has a fraternal twin brother and an older sister. His family continues to reside in Waukee. Growing up, he attended the Waukee United Methodist Church. In 2014, he converted to Catholicism and entered the Catholic Church at St. Boniface in Waukee. He is a 2014 graduate of Waukee High School.

After high school, Fr. Jason attended Iowa State University for his freshman year of college and joined a priestly discernment group at St. Thomas Aquinas Church and Student Center. Fr. Jason discerned the call to enter the seminary while at ISU, and he entered St. John Vianney College Seminary in St. Paul, MN, located at the University of St. Thomas for his sophomore year of college.  Following graduation, he continued his studies in theology at the St Paul Seminary School of Divinity (MN), finishing in the spring of 2023.  He received a bachelor's degrees in philosophy from the University of St. Thomas (MN), as well as a Master of Divinity from the St Paul Seminary School of Divinity.

Fr. Jason is excited to get to know the parishioners at OLIH and begin his priestly ministry. You can find Fr. Jason exercising at the gym, reading, or enjoying some good Chinese food.
