Have You Heard
Our New Addition?

Three bells have been installed in our north bell tower.  The addition of the bells completes the 50th anniversary updating of our worship area and campus.

The bells are scheduled to ring five minutes before and at the start of each of the weekend Masses and at Noon and 6:00 pm from Sunday thru Fridays to mark the Angelus.

The origins of the Angelus lie with an 11th century custom of reciting three Hail Mary’s during the evening bell and evolved during the 16th century into its present form of three times a day—6:00 am, 12 Noon and 6:00 pm. It reminds us of the Annunciation, Mary’s ‘yes’ and the gift of the Incarnation. In its final paragraph it evokes an appeal for God’s grace to help us in our pilgrimage of faith. Jesus loved us enough to die for us so that we might live with Him eternally! When we pray the Angelus with humility and love, we are emulating Mary’s faith in His goodness. We are blessed in that we can ask both God and His Blessed Mother for their assistance on our journey towards Eternal Life.  Click for the Angelus Prayer
