Anointing of the Sick

This sacrament, offered to those who are sick, facing surgery, or near death, celebrates the loving compassion of God for those who are in special need.  The anointing assures the sick and their loved ones of Christ’s presence with them during this time of suffering and pain.  It holds out for them the hope promised in baptism that God is a God of life and that eternal life is the ultimate gift of healing.
